Do Fish Pose instead. Lie on your back. The legs can be straight, as shown, or the knees can be bent if that's more comfortable. As you inhale, lift your pelvis off the floor. Slide the hands, with palms down, next to or underneath the buttocks.
Supporting yourself with the elbows, arch your back and let your head drop back with either the back or the crown of the head resting on the floor. Most of your body weight should be on your elbows and lower body with only a small amount of pressure on your head. It shouldn't feel painful to the neck.
