Pregnant?

Is there something in the water?

Does Bikram Yoga make you more fertile? (That's how rumors get started so please don't quote me -- I'm joking.)

Whatever the reason, we're seeing a lot of women who are practicing yoga for two. As soon as I get a chance I'm going to add a pregnancy page with some detailed information about pregnancy and Bikram Yoga with photos and descriptions of posture modifications.

In the meantime, Susie, who practiced throughout her pregnancy and is now a very happy mom, is available for private instruction. Sessions can be schedule for 60 or 90 minutes.

I think this yoga is great

I think this yoga is great preparation for labor and birth. Even though I wasn't able to practice regularly during my pregnancy, my pre-pregnancy practice really helped me deal with contractions and birthing. The working hard for two minutes and then resting for two minutes during active labor felt very similar to doing the poses and then resting in savasana. I had a peaceful, comfortable homebirth and I attribute my experience in part to Bikram yoga practice....

Thanks for sharing. Many

Thanks for sharing. Many others have had similar experiences.

Not me...

While I felt like I was practicing yesterday for two, for me, it's just peri-menopause (or maybe menopause). I'm hoping by getting back to practice will combat that 'feeling' and look, but I honestly thought at yesterday's practice what it must feel like to be about 4 or 5 months pregnant and practicing yoga.
Major kudos to those of you drinking that water...

Practicing during menopause,

Practicing during menopause, peri-menopasue, or even man-o-pause can be challenging. Rest more often and set up near a fan, if you can. Don't be afraid to ask someone to steer you towards a cool spot in the room.
